DoDonPachi Saga Part 4 : Testing out stage 5 consistency in a run and scoring a new PB(1-6 19,540,290)

After feeling comfortable in banging out good stage 1 to 4's with few resources used, I could have chosen to go with the bomb everything in stage 5 and 6 option. However that just somehow feels a bit dirty. Almost like cheating. Not cheating the game, but myself. What would I gain from just spam bombing my way to victory ? That's why I decided that I wanted to do Stage 5 on reading ability with just a few planned bombs (for consistency). After using Supercompensation and optometry I managed to actually pull that off which before starting on this honeymoon with ddp I wouldn't have believed was a realistic thing. 


After, over the course of a few weeks not only creating and learning as low bomb route but also actually upgrade my raw bullet reading ability of hall of hell I managed to get it consistenct in practice with multiple stage 5 runs going well no miss or 1 miss in a row. However it still needed to be tested in a full run.

After resetting 2 or 3 runs I got to stage 4 which I hadn't played for a while, I got hit at the end section for the first time in the run and recovered badly with another hit right after it. Only to make another small mistake at the first pattern of the stage 4 boss. I lost 3 lives in a few seconds. It was looking very bad, and stage 5 wasn't even begun....

I delivered where it mattered and banged out a beautiful Stage 5 exactly according to my plan, almost a no miss as well !
Going into stage 6 for the first time ever completely blind on my last extend was a long shot and even tho I was only 500,000 points away from a juicy extend with 7 bombs actually wasn't that far off from making it to the finish line ! 😇

I had no chance in stage 6 having it not played before ever but I was thrilled to see I did so well in stage 5 after a terrible stage 4 and was happy to at least have improved my previous personal best score 😋

DoDonPachi 1CC Saga Part 2: No Missing Stage 1 to 4 (and the truth about "getting better at the genre") GOAL : getting a 1CC in DDP and raising my hardware skill cap of raw bullet pattern reading to become a 2nd loop player. STRATEGY : do well in the first 4 stages so you can fully bomb every pixel in stage 5 and 6, then route stage 5 and 6 and forget to bomb. On my first day of runs, after doing a week or 3 of routing and practicing stage 3, 4 and 5 I managed to get to the stage 4 boss with an extend and 4 bombs left. However instead of just safely bombing it and get to Stage 5 I chose to more or less sacrifice the run to get experience of doing the stage 4 boss under pressure. I ended the run with 12.8m score. Supercompensation Chronicles Part 2 : Touhou 7 PCB Lunatic

This was a hard test and some pretty solid and definitive proof for me that the principle of supercompensation is working and it will work for anything and everything, stage, boss, game and difficulty. The clip doesn't look so impressive but I managed to make it through the hard part at the middle almost every single time, that's pretty significant, 2 days ago I couldn't do this at all, maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 max ! This pattern looks easy but it's somehow demanding to read and navigate. I have done 3 sessions of Touhou Lunatic patterns and at the 3rd I can now make it through a very tricky unroutable and tough pattern consistently either almost or completely. By just playing normally and trying this pattern over and over it feels as if you're just hitting a wall, a ceiling, a "hardware cap" as some very good players would say.
